Wedding Band performing Live in Woburn Bedfordshire

Kim and Jo on safari with Adam Chandler's swing band!

A wedding at the iconic Woburn Abbey estate is always going to be a bit special, and nothing sets off a special occasion quite like the sultry sounds of swing. As eclectic as the African savannah itself, swing is the musical genre that keeps on giving, from lively reels that the youngest members of the wedding party will love jiving along with, to the soft, slow serenades that were made for romance.

When Adam Chandler's swing band were asked to set the scene for Kim and Jo's wedding celebrations, the lakeside setting for the main event was the ultimate inspiration, with a playlist of songs that featured both romance and water – from cruises to raindrops – carefully selected, and artfully set to the full range of sounds that swing is capable of moving through.

From a First Dance accompanied by a saxophone quartet, to a whirlwind conclusion in the bright, brilliant sound of a full big band, the notes of Kim and Jo's wedding celebrations were as varied as the sounds drifting across cloudless blue skies from the various animals of Woburn safari park, while a colour scheme of gold and silver gave the impression of sunlight water rippling across the dance floor.

The right music can take a wedding from beautiful to unforgettable, and Adam Chandler's swing band certainly did that for this happy couple.

Kim: "We chose a swing band because we wanted something that was traditional and contemporary at once, and swing definitely ticked both those boxes, as well as giving a musical backdrop that was a little bit different to your typical wedding.

When you're getting married in a safari park, your guests are fully expecting you to be a bit left-field in your choices, and we certainly didn't disappoint!"
