Light and laughter with We Light It Up, and Debs and Gray

Debs and Gray have to be among Adam Chandler's most memorable couples, brimming with infectious fun, and a really great wedding idea; this youthful couple had worked with debut events organiser Cass Anthony to create a childlike fantasy with a grown up edge.

Set in the glamorously scenic Ashridge House, in Hertfordshire, the couple decided to have We Light It Up accompany every moment of their big day, starting with a lively champagne breakfast – where Looney Tunes characters mingled over mimosas, and bantered over bagels! Unperturbed by a proliferation of larger than life critters, We Light It Up echoed the autumnal morning, pulsing warm white and bright white LEDs from the drumkit, as they took the bridal party and groomsmen – who were breakfasting as one party, through some light, rousing wake up tunes to get the excitement and expectation rising.

As the clock struck noon, and the bride stood waiting in an outfit that was classic 1950s formal, with a fun edge provided by some bright, bold accessories, Gray strode up the aisle to a riotous welcome of gunslinger soundshots, red, white, and blue pulsing from We Light It Up's unique LED drum kit, his skinny fit suit, sharply shining cowboy boots, and crimson leather tie drawing some very admiring glances from male guests who were clearly rethinking their own style.

After the ceremony, We Light It Up set up in a breakout area of Ashridge House, playing a light, lively medley of songs as guests mingled, explored, and chatted, and the newlyweds took some time for themselves, before the evening celebration – a buffet of potions and parcels, with a sorting hat determining the seating order, a disco of magical madness creating a lively backdrop. We Light It Up chose blue and green LEDs to lend a touch of weird and wonderful, switching on the warm white lights as the party stepped out onto the lawn for a seemingly impromptu Quidditch match!

This was a celebration that celebrated childhood, even as it marked one of the defining moments of adulthood. It was as much fun for Adam Chandler's bright, bold band as it was for the bride and groom and their guests, and certainly a wedding to remember.
