Subtle, stylish medleys from Musical Orphans gave Tony and Ami a day to remember.
West Lodge Park Hotel, just beyond the boundaries of North London, in the Hertfordshire countryside, is a venue that exudes subtle dignity.
When Musical Orphans first met with Tony Copley and partner Ami Henderson, they explained that they wanted a traditional wedding celebration, with old-fashioned elegance and style, but a slight modern twist, which they were relying both on music, and the floral arrangements they'd already chosen, to provide.
Together, we settled on a medley of classic show tunes, interspersed with traditional slow dance numbers, played by the talented, professional musicians of Musical Orphans, who took to the stage at West Lodge Park in full black tie, leaving the music to provide the modern notes.
It can be hard work to make the most of a more traditional event, as it's important that the music doesn't dominate on such occasions, which can mean people are reluctant to get up and join in with the dancing. However, with Tony and Ami's guests, we soon saw this wasn't a problem – although the dancing was sedate and dignified, there was a real energy of joy and enthusiasm, and no one turned their back on a chance to get up and trot through a few paces alongside the happy couple.
This was one of the quieter weddings Musical Orphans have been part of, but it was one of the most welcoming. We're glad we could make Tony and Ami's day something special, in a style that suited them as a couple, and we wish them all the best in their life together.
Tony & Ami:"We're quite a traditional couple at heart, and we wanted that reflected in our wedding – but we didn't want it to be bland and boring.
Adam was very attentive to our thoughts and desires around how our wedding music should sound, and we were both delighted with Musical Orphans' performance on the day, and would certainly recommend them to anyone else looking for quality wedding or event entertainment."
