London Birthday Party Entertainment with band Animation

Elegant birthday celebrations at Eltham, with Animation.

“I couldn't have asked for a better performance. Very talented musicians, who knew exactly what they were doing, and exactly what I wanted.”

These were the words of John Radclyffe, when his best friend, Chris, asked him what he thought of the birthday party he'd never wanted! We have to say, we're more than happy with that judgement, and glad that John – who only arranged a birthday party for his fortieth to please his partner, Anne, who felt he needed to “get out and enjoy himself a bit” - was impressed with what we chose, following his instruction to “do whatever, but make it good.”

If you've not been there before, Eltham Lodge is a London venue that blends traditional elegance with contemporary cool, which was also the sense we got of John's personal identity and style.

Working without any direct guidance, we chose to set up warm white LEDs on Animation's eye catching piano, and play a selection of jazz, indie folk, and popular classical music, while John and his guests enjoyed a buffet dinner, with plenty of opportunity to catch up, and a relaxed energy that made it easy for friends, family, and workmates to enjoy spending time together.

John: "I was more than ready to say “I told you so” when the music failed to live up to my expectations, but, in the end, I found myself swallowing my words. I'd arranged a very bare-bones bash, as I'm not really much of a one for social events, and, truth be told, I was half hoping my challenge of “do whatever” would see Animation fall flat on their faces, so I could justify never having another birthday party.

It wasn't to be, of course – and I actually ended up enjoying the evening, in spite of my legendary misanthropy! Well done, fellas – a good night was had by all."
